Somatic tools – how can they guide trauma-informed coaching?
Somatic tools that connect our minds to our hearts via the body are useful in providing access to inner wisdom. Specifically, when difficult emotions or trauma arises in coaching sessions – we can address the body as a resource instead of as an adversary. One way of defining trauma is the incomplete experiencing of emotions, which can be remain stuck in our bodies and may eventually trigger physical symptoms. Similarly, healing can be seen as the restoration of movement and flow of emotions through grounding and resourcing. As coaches, we can utilize somatic tools to aid in the resourcing of ourselves as coaches and for our coachees so that they can better sequence emotions.
In this experiential session I will introduce somatic tools, provide space for movement, visualization, and journaling.
